CONVERTER – FV1 - Frequency to voltage converter.
The CONVERTER-FV1 board is designed to perform frequency to voltage conversion. If used properly, it will eliminate the need for expensive boards, which would otherwise be needed to carry out the same tasks.
The CONVERTER-FV1 is easy to install, setup and operate. If you want to do professional RPM or flow measurement related functions, The CONVERTER-FV1 offers the features you need. Mounted easily via two 0.125" mounting holes.
Simply connect the board to 12 to 24VDC or 12 to 24VAC, connect your pulse source (i.e. hall effect or light switch sensor) to the input and our board will convert it to voltage. For input frequency of 0-33HZ (0-2000RPM) the output voltage will be 0-2V. i.e. 1mV per 1RPM (revolutions per minute)
Note: 1HZ = 60RPM therefore 33.333Hz => 2000RPM We chose output of 0 to 2000mV because standard 3.5 digit display can display up to 1999mV. However, the board is rated up to 100Hz i.e. 6000RPM with output voltage of 0-6VDC.
1. Potentiometer (trimmer) for adjusting so that your meter displays 1999mv at 1999RPM.
2. Potentiometer (trimmer) Full range linear adjustment for display (voltmeter) with 200mV input (option).
The board can be easily modified for different input frequencies and output voltage ranges. As seen on the right, it's configured to convert 0 to 5KHZ input frequency to 0 to 5VDC output voltage.
For remote applications, using our voltage to current converter, you will be able to convert the output voltage to 4-20mA current. Ask our engineers for more details.
The board can be connected to either 12V DC or AC, additionally the input power is "idiot proof," i.e. one can connect it to a car battery without worry to the battery polarity connections. |
