The board is designed to perform industrial standard precision High current, voltage and efficiency power AC/DC diode and Silicon Controlled Rectifier (SCR) function. The module is ideal choice for DC Motor Variable Speed Control Power Drive. If used properly, it will eliminate the need for an expensive board or external switches, which would otherwise be needed to carry out the same tasks.

The Thyristor module is an Hybrid of SCR-Diode and MOV Power module. One can use it in Power Output Circuit (P.O.C. block) application. Referring to Convoys SCR driven application Some engineers name our Hybrid board, EID's Silicon Power Cube (E.S.P.C.). Thus it primarily design for Variable DC Control Drive, it been use in Power Control and Switching function due its low profile. (No need for external Balky Heat Sink!).

 

This low cost Power Cube, yet powerful Single Phase Half Controlled Bridge Rectifier models include; 2 MOVs, 3 High Voltage Filter Caps, High voltage High Current Free Wheeling Power Diode, Triple Heat-Sink configuration and Gating Driven Diodes with Peek Inverse Voltage (PIV) rated at 700V.

 

EID Silicon Power Cube (E.S.P.C.) is an in industry standard DC Motor control configuration with on board heat-sinks, optimized high-voltage Free Wheeling Diodes (F.W.D.) and SCRs, fast-recovery diode and gate, auxiliary diodes, filters and MOVs. It feature high isolation voltage (up to 3600 VAC) with very low thermal resistance and temperature ratings -50 °C to +170 °C and EID approved.

 

For the same SCR gate firing angle and input voltage the EID's half controlled converter in the continuous conduction mode gives higher output voltage compared to a fully controlled converter. Furthermore For the same input voltage, SCR gate firing angle and load parameters the EID's half controlled converter has better output voltage and current form factor compared to a fully controlled converter. Additionally for the same SCR gate firing angle and load current the EID's half controlled converter in the continuous conduction mode has better input power factor compared to a fully controlled converter. Finally EID's half controlled converters are most favored in applications requiring unidirectional output voltage and current such as DC Motor Drive.

 

Another feature is transient voltage protection is provided by a Metal Oxide Varistor (MOV) which is also connected in parallel across the bridge (both input and output). The MOV is a nonlinear resistive device that will limit or clamp the transient voltage to a safe level.

 

The Board is easy to install, setup and operate. If you want to do professional DC motor drive or temperature control related functions, The board offers the features you need. It can be mounted easily via up to six 0.156" mounting holes utilizing 4-40 or 6-32 screws.

 

Simply connect the board to 115VAC or 230VAC, connect your external gate control phase and the board will automatically convert it to average DC voltage--
